“Middle-aged people who drank between three and five cups of coffee a day lowered their risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease by between 60 and 65 per cent later in life”
While I’m not middle-aged, I usually (especially when I was in Finland) drank boatloads of coffee. I don’t expect to get alzheimers, therefore, but one other thing they mentioned is that psychologists at Durham University showed a link between heavy coffee drinking and hallucinations.
Well DUH! Of course – this is well known – visit any website related to Lucid Dreaming. That was the whole reason I used to down 2-3 cups right before bed.Â
Coffee has some interesting effects on me – sometimes it induced the lucid dreaming, but more importantly, it seemed to HELP me get to sleep – to the point that it would make me drowsy after the second cup – but I think I slept pretty well.
But of course, one must make sure that they are not drinking Nescafé – INSTANT COFFEE IS NOT COFFEE! I expect that decaf should not be considered as coffee either, but more closely related to dirty dish water, as diet coke  should be considered more closely related to cat piss than real coke.
I’m adament about that. But thanks you researchers, for telling me stuff I already knew. Now pour me another cup!
